Hi there again, internets.
So, in approximately six days from the time of this post, I'll be boarding a plane heading back to the mainland US to live there again for the first time in 14 years...a quarter of my life has been spent outside of the (continental) United States.
In 2009, I PCSed to South Korea for a year. In 2010 I PCSed to Honduras. Finally, in 2011, I PCSed to Guam, where I've been for the past 12 years of my life. It's been a wild ride for nearly a decade and a half, exploring the world and all it has to offer, but it's getting to the time where I need to move back home to be nearly family...to enjoy their company before they are gone for good.
There are many possibilities in the coming weeks and months that may change how things pan out in the coming years for me. These next few months are a crossroads in more ways than one. I can't guarantee that I'll always make the right decisions. I can't promise I won't make mistakes. However, I can do my best to ensure that my future is promised to me...whatever that future might be.
One of my camera straps has "Dare to Dream Big" on the strap to remind me to always reach for things that are out of reach. To dare to dream for those things that you're told are impossible by others. I'm living that now. I'm daring to go home, to return to my roots and hopefully in doing so will rekindle not only my love for Photography, but also the love for myself.
Above, you'll see some photos by me when I was still actively shooting on a home visit. These are just some of the things that I snapped when home and I'm hoping that I'll be able to get back to that place in the coming months after coming back home.
Thanks for reading this brain dump. I hope that, soon, I'll have more positive offerings in the coming months.
-Chris
